Our Network

MAARS has earned the support and respect of key organizations in Minnesota and has worked closely with the following agencies: Federated Humane Societies of Minnesota, Humane Society for Companion Animals, St. Paul Police, St. Paul Animal Control, City of St. Paul - Office of the District Attorney, Bloomington Animal Control, Olmstead County Sheriff's Department, Olmstead County District Attorney's Office, Raptor Center/University of Minnesota, and Medical Institute of Minnesota.

MAARS has also been invited to conduct workshops at the following conferences: Minnesota Animal Control Association Statewide Conference 2001, No-Kill Conference 2001 and 2002 CHAMP Conference (formerly the No-Kill Conference), American Humane Association National Conference 2002, and The Association of Sanctuaries Conference 2002.

MAARS works with the Avian Welfare Coalition (AWC) to develop, coordinate and present the highly successful annual Avian Welfare Round Table (AWRT) and associated public seminars each year.

In conjunction with the AWC, MAARS has been instrumental in the development of the avian educational materials being utilized by several national animal welfare organizations both on websites and in print, including: American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), Animal Protection Institute (API), People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, In Defense of Animals (IDA), and The Fund for Animals. It is essential to the welfare of captive birds that collaborative and educational efforts continue; MAARS is committed to continuing such efforts and fostering productive relationships with other established avian welfare and humane organizations.
